Phoenix Dining at Max's Sport Restaurant
Max's Sports Lounge was established in 1978, making it the Glendale area's first sports bar. After a complete renovation and remodel in 2002, Max's Sports Restaurant & Simulcast Wagering Center, now stands proudly where its roots first took hold.
As the Valley's preeminent sports bar Max's features more than 95 television screens located throughout the facility, including the patio, and broadcasts almost every major sporting event for fans to watch and follow their favorite teams. One of the things Max's is famous for, besides the HUGE helmet collection, is the Jocko Bird. The Jocko Bird is the mascot of the bar created by the original owner, Max Beyer, who will greet you right inside the entrance.
The kitchen and restaurant have made items like the 16-ounce choice ribeye steak, and its famous half-pound burgers and sandwiches into fan favorites. From tempting homemade soups to mouth-watering desserts, Max's menu has something to suit every taste. Be sure to enjoy the homemade potato chips with some chipotle ranch sauce as well as the pork tenderloin sandwich, which are two of the most popular house specialties at Max's.
For the betting fan, Max's offers a Simulcast Wagering Center that closely resembles the high-rolling style of "Vegas" racebooks. The wagering center features two big-screen televisions, twelve 27-inch televisions and 28 private-betting carrels equipped with personal color television monitors. Both thoroughbred and greyhound races are simulcast daily from around the country and available for wagering.
